AC Milan is expected to officially contact Manchester United about signing striker Marcus Rashford.
Milan advisor – and Rashford’s former teammate – Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spoken publicly about his desire to speak to Rashford about the move.
Borussia Dortmund are also interested in the player, but it is believed that the move could be a big problem for them due to wages. However, United maintained a positive relationship with Dortmund after Jadon Sancho was loaned out to them last season.
Sancho’s move worked for all parties, as he performed well for Dortmund and United are understood to have reclaimed all his wages during his time there.
Rashford’s camp has spoken to a number of European clubs to explore the terms of a deal. At the moment, United’s preference is believed to remain outright loan, if they allow him to leave.
Rashford was again left out of the matchday squad on Sunday for the FA Cup third round tie against Arsenal, which United won on penalties.
When asked if Rashford had played his last game for United manager Ruben Amorim, he said: “I don’t know. We’ll see.”
While United accept that they will have to pay a significant portion of Rashford’s wages, they will look to incentivize the structure to ensure the deal suits them.
Rashford prioritized over Walker – why can’t Milan sign both?
Rashford is Milan’s priority over Kyle Walker in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail. Heaven in Italy.
Pep Guardiola confirmed over the weekend that Walker and his representatives are “exploring” his options after informing outgoing sporting director Txiki Begiristain of his desire to move abroad. according to Heaven in ItalyItalian club Milan has been searching for a defender for some time in case Fikayo Tomori leaves the club, but his transfer was prevented by the arrival of new coach Sergio Conceicao.
It remains to be seen if this time will be different and if the Rossoneri will try to secure his signature with Bayern Munich after also being interested in the past.
Milan can only register one English player according to current Serie A regulations.
Each season, Serie A clubs can register up to three non-EU players and an additional player from the United Kingdom or Albania if they do not have existing non-EU players in their squad.
If they already have one or two non-EU players, they can bring in a maximum of two non-EU players.
If they have more than one non-EU player, they can buy other non-EU players but one of them must have played for their national team in the previous 12 months.
Milan could only buy two new players from outside the European Union this season due to the number of places already occupied.
They did just that in the summer by signing Emerson Royle from Tottenham and Strahinja Pavlovic from Red Bull Salzburg. This means that Milan only has one extra place available for a British (or Albanian) player.
Even if they sell a non-EU player, they still cannot sign another UK-based player. It is one slot per registration period (season).
Leon undergoes a medical examination
Latest news from Dharmesh Sheth from Sky Sports News:
Diego Leon will undergo a medical with Manchester United today before finalizing a pre-contract agreement for the summer.
Leon arrived in Manchester yesterday.
Once the deal is completed, the 17-year-old will return to his current club Cerro Porteno in Paraguay for the rest of the season.
The left-back/left-back position is an issue for United given injuries Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malasia over the past 18 months.
As a result, they continue to monitor Nuno Mendes’ situation at Paris Saint-Germain.
Talks over a new contract in Paris have so far failed to find a solution, and his current deal is set to expire next summer.
Relations with Paris Saint-Germain are said to be good after United signed Manuel Ugarte in August.
Betis and Olympiacos inquire about Anthony
Both Real Betis and Olympiacos have made inquiries to United about Anthony.
The Brazilian winger was an unused substitute in United’s FA Cup third-round penalty shootout win over Arsenal on Sunday.
United will consider offers for Anthony, with the most likely deal being a loan deal, and Betis are also in the market for a winger having just sold Assane Diaw to Como.
