Al Hilal is ready to offer Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah a lucrative contract if he wants to leave Europe and play in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi champions are searching for a high-profile signing to replace Neymar.
Neymar’s contract expires at the end of this season, and Al Hilal could offer to make Salah one of the star names in the expanded Club World Cup in the United States of America in June and July.
Salah will be a free player this summer, and has been free to talk to foreign clubs since the beginning of this month.
Liverpool rejected a ÂŁ150m bid for Salah from the Etihad in August 2023.
Turki Al-Sheikh, one of the most powerful figures in Saudi sports, posted a sarcastic photo on Facebook on Wednesday of Salah wearing a Al Hilal shirt.
Al-Sheikh is the head of the General Entertainment Authority in Saudi Arabia, and is close to the de facto ruler of the kingdom, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Al Sheikh was the mastermind of the huge Saudi investment in boxing, but is also known to have ties to Al Hilal.
Salah, who turns 33 in June, believes he is still at his peak and can continue to play at the highest level in Europe.
âThe Saudis will do a deal for Salah if he wants it.â
Sky Sports News Chief Correspondent Kafe Solhekol:
âWhen it comes to Salah and Saudi Arabia, it’s a case of once bitten, twice shy. The Saudis tried 18 months ago to sign Salah.
âThe Etihad made an offer that was supposed to be worth up to ÂŁ150m but that was rejected and Salah decided to stay at Liverpool. They have always been very cautious since then about making another move for Salah.â
âWhat we are constantly told is that if Salah wants to go to Saudi Arabia, his representatives should contact him and they will do so. They want Salah to play in the Saudi Professional League.â
âAl Hilal, the champion and the biggest club at the moment, has Neymar whose contract will expire at the end of the season. They are looking for a replacement. His time there did not go as planned. But they will do it.â Don’t move unless Salah feels it’s time to leave Europe.”
Salah earlier in January: It’s my last six months, there is no progress
talking to Sky Sports After his man-of-the-match display in Liverpool’s 5-0 win over West Ham on December 29, Salah said he was still “a long way off” from agreeing a new contract with Liverpool – and he repeated the same thing in an interview earlier this month.
When asked if he really thought this was his last season at the club, he said Sky SportsPatrick Davison: “So far, yes. It’s the last six months. There’s no progress there. We’re far from any progress. So, we’ll just have to wait and see.”
When asked how he stayed focused, he replied: âThe thing on my mind is if this is the last six months, what do you want to see in the future?
âDo you want to look back and say âI was worried or nervous about the contract?â Or do you just want to say âI had an unbelievable season?â Thatâs whatâs going through my head.
“If I feel any distractions, I just remind myself that I want to look back and say I had an unbelievable season. That’s what I want to do.”
Period in December: I don’t talk about contract positions in press conferences
Liverpool boss Arnie slot:
âIn general, I’m not talking about contract situations here. It would be a surprise if I was the one to announce an extension for one of them.
âKeep asking, that’s your job, but you probably won’t get an answer from me.
âObviously from January 1st, maybe for you guys, things will change a lot, but they are in constant talks with the club and let’s wait and see what happens.â
âAs long as they keep performing like this, the coach will be happy.â
Klopp: I hope Salah, Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk stay
former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp:
âI’m very happy that they are doing well, and I am in contact with Arne [Slot] And some text messages from the players. There’s 0.1 percent who think I should stay there because they’re doing a good job.
He added: âI watch as many matches as possible, as it is good football, and perhaps the best balanced team in the world right now.
âI am very happy that I am not now responsible for answering these questions, and from my point of view, I wish the three would extend, but they did not tell me.â
There is no agreement with Real Madrid regarding Alexander-Arnold
Latest news from Vinny O’Connor from Sky Sports News:
Trent Alexander-Arnold is another Liverpool star nearing the end of his contract and despite reports from Spain claiming that an agreement has been reached with Real Madrid, Sky Sports News It is understood that the defender has not verbally agreed a pre-contract to join the La Liga giants at the end of the season.
The Reds rejected a bid from Madrid just before the window opened, but like Salah, Alexander-Arnold is free to negotiate with foreign clubs after entering the final six months of his contract.
